About us

NHCA serves as a bridge between research and practice, a connection established by a researcher and a practitioner.

Our story

You have probably heard that oft-repeated ‘fact’ about the humble bumblebee—that, aerodynamically, it should not be able to fly. And yet, it flies. It thrives.

You may have also encountered the persistent myth that academics and practitioners struggle to collaborate because of the so-called research–practice gap. At NHCA, we did not just challenge that myth—we bridged it.

NHCA was co-founded by Professor Dana Minbaeva and Pete Jaworski—two individuals from different worlds who shared the same vision. Dana, a leading researcher in strategic human capital and founder of the Human Capital Analytics Group at Copenhagen Business School, brought rigorous academic insight. Pete, a seasoned expert in people analytics and organisational effectiveness, contributed deep practitioner experience and industry know-how from across the Nordics.

Together, they created NHCA as a bridge between research and practice—a space where evidence meets action.

Since 2020, NHCA has grown into a dynamic hub, supported by the statistical expertise of CBS faculty and a trusted network of service partners. What sets NHCA apart is its ability to deliver actionable, research-based insights that help organisations make better people decisions and drive strategic impact.

So yes, the bumblebee flies. Not because someone proved it could, but because we opened the window and watched it soar.
